Justin has pretty wide range of interests (Wrestling, Golf, Tennis, and Guitar playing) so that made for a great session, filled with fantastic images!

We went on location, twice! First we went out to Westwood Golf Course for some great golf shots! Justin plays for the golf team at Scottsburg High School!

We then headed over to one of my favorite locations (I think I’m gonna start calling it Grungetown, thoughts?) for some Tennis and guitar photos!

There were so many more great shots…

Gee I wish there was a place I could share more of them…

Now something kind of funny has happened with my senior model program, kinda a “six degrees to Kevin Bacon” sorta thing.

Selena works next door to me, she’s friends with Raquel, who knows Chaynee, who works with Ally, who’s friends with my sister…

Freaky… (Even in a small town like Scottsburg!)

ANYWAY.

We got yet another awesome senior model in Chaynee! She showed up last week with a load of clothes and accessories, her boyfriend Joey, and a ton of enthusiasm! We started shooting and she was doing these great poses, so I asked “Are you sure you haven’t done this before?” Her response: “Nah… I just watch a lot of Top Model!” I cracked up!

We hit the road, to a nearby location filled with grit and grunge, the sort of place only a photographer (or a hobo) can love!  These kind of locations are great for senior portraits, especially guys!

This looks like a screenshot from the next “Fast & Furious” movie! I can see it now “Corey Pryor in “Way Fast, Way Furious”" (Or whatever ridiculous name come up with for the next one!)

These are two of favorites from the whole session! The right one looks like the Terminator…. Just sayin’…

Another great part of that location, it’s right next to the train tracks! (Another Photographer favorite!)

Ahhh, the internet…

Just when we think it’s out of new ways to distract us, it finds a way that’s even more powerful than before! The latest craze that is sweeping the “interwebs” is a little thing called Pinterest!

What is Pinterest?

For those of you who don’t get into that kind of stuff, here’s the scoop on Pinterest!  Pinterest acts as a pinboard for things that interest you! (Hence the name Pinterest!) This can be clothing, recipes, artwork, photographs, quotes, anything you can imagine can be pinned through a simple bookmark on your internet browser’s bookmarks bar!  Then you can add your Facebook friends that use Pinterest, so you can share ideas back and forth!

How can this help your photos?

Pinterest is a great way to get ideas for your photographs!

Senior girls: Pinterest is full of trendy outfit ideas, sure to make you look stylish in your portraits! And after you get your photos taken you can pin them and show everyone just how cool you are!

Moms: Pinterest has tons of great newborn images with adorable knit hats, and if your kids are a bit older there are great ideas for coordinating your family’s wardrobe.

A brief warning or two…

1. There is a small group of photographers who don’t like their work being pinned, so be very careful pinning other photographers’ images that aren’t already on Pinterest.

2. Pinterest can be addicting… make sure it doesn’t consume you! LOL!

To sum up, Pinterest can be a great tool for getting ideas before your session with us!

If you’ve followed the story you know that the High School was severely damaged. The kids who went there have been out of school for the last three+ weeks, but that changed yesterday!

The Chamber of Commerce arranged to have a large group of people (Myself included) to cheer for and welcome the students to their new “School”, The Mid-America Science Park.

The kids were given a police escort into the parking lot, and were met by camera crews from local television stations, newspaper photographers and me. As if that wasn’t enough some students from Scottsburg came out with hand made “Welcome Back to School” posters, and they gave away candy to the Henryville students as they entered.

All in all not a bad April 2nd! It was great to see so many of our community members band together to show our support! Before I wrap this up, I want to give some special recognition to one of my favorite stores: Best Buy for their generous donations of TVs and Game Consoles for a recreational area in the school!

Senior model sessions are really fun…

Especially when you have fun subjects!

Selena & Raquel are two of the coolest kids I’ve met in a while! We jammed out to every kind of music you can imagine, we had some good laughs and got some fantastic images!

This last week the talented Holly Stewart played a benefit show at “The Coffee House”, for those affected by the recent tornados here in our area. Holly played an acoustic set featuring old favorites like Elton John’s Lion King hit “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?”, and “Brand New Key” (The Rollerskate Song), as well as some original songs she wrote. Bummed I couldn’t stay any longer than I did!

Since I didn’t plan my post for today (I’m a photographer, not a blogger, JIM!) , I’ll just be sharing an couple of random thoughts, and some news too!

Random Thought #1: Dorito Locos Tacos at Taco Bell, are probably the best idea since sliced bread! They’re not exactly health food, but as a treat I went out with my Dad and sister the other night for the midnight premiere. (Yes they held a midnight premiere for a taco! LOL!) They kinda remind me of a recipe my mom used to make, it was a taco salad and she’d crumble up some Doritos on top! Delish!!

Random Thought #2: I don’t get why nobody likes Timeline view on Facebook… I think it’s a nice change of pace and for me (at least) easier to understand! It just take some getting used to I guess… But on an all-positive note, business pages can receive private messages now!

These nifty, pocket-sized, wonders are great way to keep photos of your loved ones near at all times! They start as two little book covers (with magnets in them, to keep them together), but when you pull them apart something magical happens, not only do the pictures appear so do a host of memories.
